Dear Mr. President, a title which I pray you soon will not have. You call yourself an American. I’m not talking about where you were born, or what race you are. I’m talking about the American ideals we live by. You say you believe and will uphold these ideals, but you don’t. Like I said, I’m not talking about where you were born or what race you are…. You sir, are not an American.
I will tell you what it means to be an American. I’m not speaking for every American, I’m speaking for the ideals our Founding Fathers instilled in us. Freedom, justice, liberty. Are you aware of what each of these mean? Do you know what it means to be a Patriot? As a President, you’re our leader. As a leader of a Nation, the people of that Nation need to be your number ONE priority. Americans. You’re number one priority is to keep us safe. So, when radicals are attacking an embassy and FOUR Americans are requesting help, you send help. You don’t go to sleep, you don’t fly to Vegas, you don’t tell anyone to stand down, you don’t blame it on a video and you sure as hell should have some compassion, when they die…Because of you.
You are a sorry excuse for a leader, you are no American Patriot. You don’t send aid and our tax dollars to support a Muslim Brotherhood that are enemies of everything we stand for. You don’t tell Russia who supports Iran, Syria and the Brotherhood that you’ll have more flexibility after the election. You support the Occupy movement and you said so yourself. The Occupy movement, the enemies of the Constitution? You don’t support the racism of whites by walking with Black Panthers and listening to a “Reverend” that hates America. You don’t say that the Constitution is flawed, racist and imperialistic. You don’t expand the power of the executive branch and you sure as hell don’t take more and more freedoms and liberty away from the American people.
Patriotism? Please…. The only goal you have is to destroy America economically. Record debt, deficit, and the number of people on welfare is up 17 million? If spending 4 trillion in 8 years is unpatriotic, spending 6 trillion in 4 is anti-American. Socialism is not welcome. To call yourself “not socialist” is extremely ridiculous and untrue. I would also like to know why you sued Arizona and chose lawlessness and open boarders over the citizens of Arizona.
Why do you continue to lie to us? We have more pieces to this Benghazi puzzle then you have lies. Tell the truth and face the music like a man. A man who cares about the better of the nation. You said you would find and prosecute the people responsible for this attack. You received an email that night explaining who did this, they admitted it! You will not seek justice for any of them. An ambassador, 2 Navy Seals, and an Air Force Sec ops are dead. This should fill you with rage and compassion. Compassion for those who have died and those families who have lost someone and rage for those who have committed this atrocity. You know why you have neither of these? Because you could have prevented this and you did nothing. This is YOUR fault.
You’re bringing my Country down and this cannot continue. I pray you will be voted out and Americans will wake up. Our economy, our defense, our military and everything is weaker. If I hated America I would love to have you as President. But you know I don’t, I love this Country and so do millions of other Americans who will stand with me. You have until January to take away the rest of our freedoms and liberties away, and to ruin this country as much as possible. And then a Real American will move into the White House. Why is Mitt Romney a REAL American? He believes in limited Govt., Free Market, Freedom, Liberty, A strong Military, Low Taxes. I think by know you realize I’m talking about all the things you’re against. Being American doesn’t mean you were born here, it doesn’t matter what the color of your skin is, it doesn’t matter what gender or by what name you call God. It’s about being Free. And Americans will make sure it stays that way.

I just want the people who are against what Derrick said to listen up. I know that there are MANY more people that are in a worse situation than I, but I want you to know that I am NOT a “rich suit.” I am a college student with little to no money. I still have school to finish. I have fears that I will not be able to find a job after I graduate. I own little that can be considered mine and of any financial value.
But even with all the plans and promises that Obama has given those who need help, and all the things he has ‘already done’ for us, I know that it will not help. Obama is not helping, he is hurting our nation. There is going to be nothing left for me and my future family if he is elected again. I don’t care if I have to go through hardships, be poor, and have to work hard to gain anything in this life because the government is not going to ‘give’ me as much as Obama ‘would’ have if he continues as president. I want to make sure that my future family will have what they need; which will not happen with the plans that Obama is putting in place ‘for us.’
I want to be able to make my future. I will not be told by the government what I can or cannot have! We have a government not to rule over us, but to “form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” (the constitution of the USA). I know that Obama has started and promised us plans and actions that he thinks will meet those requirements, but I do not agree with him. Obama is not freeing us but putting us in chains of suppression through debt and lack of being able to choose for ourselves. I have freedom and I have rights, and I will use them how I choose.

Lexi…it’s FOREFATHERS first of all as long as we’re talking education. Not all of our forefathers wanted to keep slavery for the new American Nation. As you can imagine, it was a hot topic. They felt that it was more important at that time to unite the colonies and if slavery was forbidden at that time, the south would not have joined the union. So, even though it was not “optimal” (as Obama would say) the issue of slavery was postponed until it all boiled over many years later. Slavery was crucial to the south which had an agricultural economy while the north was more industrial. It was a sad chapter in our history but it was what it was. And blacks were not the only people enslaved throughout history…white, Indians, Latinos, etc etc. And many blacks that ended up in the slave trade from Africa, were sold into slavery by other blacks. George Washington freed his slaves (after teaching them to read and write so they’d fare better) upon his death however he could not free his wife’s dower slaves. She even bought more slaves after his death..but GW himself felt it was wrong. He was a product of his time. He never separated a slave family as he once saw that done at a sale in Williamsburg and saw how horrible it was for the family. And some historians believe the young mulatto boy he so adored was in fact the son of his brother or possibly his nephew. It is said the boy had a clear family resemblance and it might have been the reason GW decided to free his slaves in the end.

Kexi, hundreds of thousands of Americans died freeing african Americans in this country in the bloodiest civil war in recorded history. The loand is literally soaked wioth the blood of those who fought to keep America whole and end slavery in this nation. You need to study history and stop with the self-serving, myopic view of it. There is a blood debt of honor you should be praising and thanking our our forefathers for. Whenever I hear all this talk about what is “owed,” and reparations, I think of places like Gettysburg, Chickamauga, Spotsylvania Court House, Chancellorsville, Shiloh, antietam…and the list goes on where literally men by the tens of thosuands in each battle died to end that abomination in this country. Look those battles up and read about them…study history a little more and then thank those families by the millions otday who lost great-great grandfathers fighting for your ancestors.

Moreover, they were NOT elected to “keep blacks in slavery.” In fact, the question of slavery did not become a major debate until some time afterwards- Nearly forty years later, actually. When it became a major debate, the United States stopped slave importation and began to intervene on behalf of slaves being taken by other countries: Of course, they had not yet addressed the issue of domestic slavery.
When people began working for the abolition of domestic slavery, Rep. James Ashley, James Wilson and Senator John Henderson all submitted individual amendments to the Constitution. The Senate Judicial Committee merged the amendments of these three specifically, and Ashley once more reintroduced the measure, which is when Abraham Lincoln got involved. Lincoln added the abolition of slavery to the Republican Party platform, which did the trick of seeing the measure ratified December 6, 1865. This was the Thirteenth Amendment, and was quickly followed up by the Fourteenth and and Fifteenth, in 1868 and 1870, respectively.
Now, you make no mention of political party in YOUR little speech, so I’ll not mention any in my response. However, I discern from your posting that your discernment is slightly damaged. While you have a point that only people who are educated and who are able to properly discern their history from fairy tales should be able to make speeches that are worth hearing; you completely fail that particular point yourself, and thus by your own litmus test should never have even opened your mouth.
Fortunately, our forefathers were not all the most educated of men, and thus, assured the freedom of speech for even those who were equally uneducated. That allows someone like you to be able to spew uneducated opinion on a well educated and intelligent entry such as this.

My daughter & son-in-law & their friends keep finding more & more educated & involved young people who also love their country. I, unfortunately, was one of those people who just left everything up to others & now look at our country. I hope we can get it back on track. Kori, thanks for your perspective as a young college student. I am an advisor for a sorority at a liberal arts college in Florida. I am shocked at the number of young women who do not share your concerns for the future AND job prospects–more concerned about women’s “rights” to get free birth control and government funded abortions. I worry so much about my daughter’s economic future, as well as her children (hopefully) when they are growing up. I fear it’s too late for my generation to recover financially from the onslaught of this last four years and Obama’s destruction of OUR United States–we are no longer UNITED, but fragmented and failing. Keep up the good work, get your degree, and keep praying for a change on 11/6 and the “end of an error” on 1/20/13.

Is george bush not an american for letting the world trade center be attacked?
How is that so many young people can put their fingers on a keyboard and let their lacking in knowledge leave their fingertips? No one “let” the World Trade Center be attacked, nor the Pentagon, nor the loss of the lives on the flight over PA.
I am amazed at the surprizing amount of young Americans who open their mouth and insert their foot into the orafice called their mouth.
They have absolutely no idea what they are saying because they haven’t taken the time to “learn” what they are talking about.
It is so easy to sit and take aim just because it sounds like it’s cool. So I will tell you a little story about Americans. Men who love their country decide to serve in the military because they want to make it safe for all their loved ones and those around them. Some even decide to do it as a fulltime career because they want to make sure those that come after them will have the rights, the freedom of choice, and the chance to become whatever they so desire in this country.
These are the same men who have served this country in a war that has lasted way too wrong for the purpose of keeping us free. Though I don’t personally agree with this war, I do agree that the men that served in it need to be respected.
Also, the men in the 2 previous wars namely Korea and Vietnam need to be remembered.
Andy, I would be you might even know a man or two from that generation. But, I would almost bet you have no idea what they went thru so you could be free and have your right to an opinion and to speak it.
Next time you want to know what an American is, go visit one of those men, or one of the men in a VA hospital near you who has fought in Irag. Sit and talk to them about how they got a leg, arm, or head wound happen to them. Ask a Korea or Vietnam vet how he sleeps at night from the nightmares he has , or better yet ask him to tell you about losing the guy next to him in a fox hole and have to pick up the pieces of his body to be put in a body bag.
And then sit down with the US Constitution and yes a few history books that tells what the soldiers in the Rev War went thru so you could open your mouth and show how little history you know.
I am married to one of those men. I won’t bore you with the details of our daily lives except to tell you that he doesn’t sleep at night without medication, or that he is dying with cancer and has Parkinson’s disease, and a bad heart and lungs. Things the VA has classified he received from being doused repeatedly with Agent Orange.
You my young man have no idea how lucky you are. I just hope you can wake up and take an interest in your country, because if your generation doesn’t accept the responsibility of it as Americans, one day there won’t be an American left to say so.
So, you go ahead and live with your ideals and lacking of historical facts and one day when you wake up in an old man’s body then it will hit you what exactly you missed out on from Derrick’s message. Derrick, you have a very narrow view of world politics. Teddy Roosevelt said: “Speak softly, but carry a big stick.” He didn’t say “Speak softly, but swing a big stick,” or “Speak boldly, and wield a big stick.” He knew what he was saying. Negotiation and not intimidation should be the way we work in the world. It is a difficult way to proceed. To pick and choose our national interests, to weigh and decide who helps our national interests at the time, and to redefine ourselves every now and again. Just think if we had launched an invasion into Libya at the time of the Benghazi attacks. Perhaps we would have saved the lives of 4 Americans, but jeopardized any relationship we might have had in the future with the government, or perhaps other governments around the world. We have to live in and on this globe. We can’t go around the world telling other countries what to do. What we can do is start being consistent, upholding American ideals and principles, and managing our own country — a very difficult thing to do in these tumultuous times.

You see, you assume that negotiation can work. In given situations, you are correct: It will work, though it may be hard to do so. It will work, when you are able to negotiate one item or interest for the release of another. However, negotiation has its limits.
A study of Teddy’s life, Mr. Smathers, shows a man who would be far more likely to back up his speech with action, rather than continually threaten action, which you seem to imply. Bear in mind he was the one who sought to bolster the military, and stated on more than one occasion that it WAS his “big stick.”
In summation, sir, one cannot negotiate with certain people, and terrorists rank highest on that list. Twas terrorists, not angry bystanders, that broke into the embassy, sir; terrorists, not average people outraged over a badly done short film on YouTube.
These are indeed tumultuous times, sir; and only made more chaotic and evil with opinions such as yours, wherein we are cautioned to speak alone, and thus waste our breath upon their ears while they take our breath by mortal wounding.

Explain to me Harold why we would want any relationship with a country that refuses help as four Americans are slaughtered inside their borders. Again I am disgusted by the thought that not stepping on Libya’s toes was more important than the lives of four Americans. Violating Pakistan’s borders to kill Osama bin Laden wasn’t a problem for Obama. Everyone also seems to have forgotten Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl who is a prisoner of war captured by the Taliban in 2009. Yes, he’s been held captive for three years and the Obama administration is waiting for the Taliban to initiate negotiations for his release. Obama is anti-American if you ask me.

I am proud of this country and I am glad to see that there are some people out there that actually think for themselves and don’t follow blindly. Good for you Derrick! I am glad to know that some people can see through this man’s plan to destroy our country…he is a wolf in sheeps clothing! I could care less what the color of his skin is or what his religion is…this is America and that is what is at the very foundation of our country. We have made mistakes, but we have worked and fought and died to make them right. We used to be the nation that lead the world, not by force but by example. This man thinks being president is like being King…if someone dares to contradict him or tells him that he cannot…he just makes an executive order to suit his needs. He is so arrogant, he truly believes he is smarter than us…yes that means even the bleeding-heart’s who voted him into office. He is a master of deception. If you watch all the things he is doing…you will see that while there is some big stir, he quietly has his free hand in the cookie jar where he thinks no one will see him stealing from us. Nothing is ever his fault. Granted things were a mess when he was elected, but he just took that chaos and turned it to his advantage to bull his way through things that otherwise a settled nation would never had allowed.
People, there is so much information available to you. Seek out the truth, try to see things without prejudice or pre-conceived ideas. This man had no real business experience, very, very limited political experience, no foreign relation experience (non-that he’d admit to)…how the hell did he get elected?!
Even if Mitt is elected, we still have a very long, hard road to hoe. Go out and look at the actual budget figures. Not only are our wars unfunded, but so too is most of our government. We barely collect enough tax to cover…well really not even enough…entitlement programs (Social Security/Medicare, etc.). Obama, will collect a salary for the rest of his life, plus healthcare…even if he is voted out. Mitt Romney, while serving as Mass. governor took no salary. Gee, what a terrible guy who wants to steal from the poor and give to the wealthy…NOT. He started his involvement in politics when he was really still a teen. He had an unpaid intern’s position with the governor of MI (yes his father) for 2 years. He graduated with dual degrees in Business and Law…only 15 people in his classes accomplished this. He spent two years doing missionary work in France living on $100 a month sharing living space and communal bathroom/showers with 175 other missionaries and worked 12 hr days with only 4hrs personal time. His first investment venture…turns out it was Staples…hmm that place is a real dump huh?
This is not about Democrats or Republicans, it’s not about Black or White, it’s not about Gay or Straight…or Pro-choice or Anti-abortion. This is about America, the land of opportunity. The home of the FREE and the BRAVE.
All I wish is that everyone to please read both sides of the stories…educate yourselves on their records (b/c actions always speak louder than words) and in the end vote your heart.

Derrick you make some good points involving the debt and some of the details about Bengazi. And I am really glad you stayed away from using a lot of fallacies. But there are some flaws in this argument
Problem #1 Freedom and liberty essentially the same word
Problem #2 He keeps saying how Obama is trying to take away our liberties and freedoms but he never actually says what freedoms he is taking away or how he is achieving this
Problem #3 The idea of democracy is that people have a voice and they vote for the people who exemplify their ideals. This means that when somebody is elected by a majority vote they exemplify the ideals of the people. Therefore since Obama received 52.9% of the popular vote he represented the American ideals at the time of the elections. This refutes Derricks argument that he does not represent the American ideals
Problem #4 Also the argument about saying he is a not a patriot because he is spending money is easily argued against. This is basically saying that no person should ever spend more money than they have in order to do something that is morally right.
Problem #5 The only goal you have is to destroy America economically” and arguing for limited government and free market economy. If you want a true limited government and free market economy there would be no economic help for anybody, this does not just include bailouts and stimulus packages but also includes infrastructure i.e. roads and ports, something you have inevitably used.
Problem #6 the whole Ad Hominem fallacy of saying he is a socialist is categorically false. Read Marx and Engel if you want to see how he nothing like what they say a true socialist is. If you want to read about the contemporary definition of socialism read Upton Sinclair and you can see some similarities but under this definition of socialism social security is a socialist ideal.
God!! You people that will not open your eyes to what this Country is becoming because of Obama. We have no Constitution anymore. Our Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles etc. have all fought for our constitution. But in four years everything they fought for is gone. We have prided our selves with being a free Country. Lets keep it that way. I love my Country. Don’t you? If you don’t love it, then go to another Country..And what Michelle has done to our kids at school. They do not have lunch any more. I don’t understand this statement about not having our constitution anymore. do you not have the ability to vote for your representatives, no matter what race or gender you are? are you free to practice your own religion? Are there three branches of government still? are you forced to quarter soldiers in your house? are unfounded searches and seizures still illegal? are you allowed to have a trial by jury no matter what your crime is?
I think what Janell is referring to is the chipping away at the Constitution. There was an effort by Democratic lawmakers to amend the constitution to allow non-citizens to run for President. He has circumvented the separation of powers provision by appointing his czars and excessive use of his executive power. The following is from townhall.com, author Stephanie Hessler..it’s kind of long but it will explain to you Obama’s disdain for the Constitution.
A look at President Obama’s first term shows his repeated disregard for the Constitution that he has sworn to preserve, protect, and defend. Since taking office, Obama has betrayed contempt for our constitutional system of separation of powers. Our framers established three distinct branches of government so that each would serve as a check on the others, and so that none could trample on individual liberty. Obama has continually circumvented Congress’s constitutional role and he has denigrated the job of the judiciary. These repeated infractions seem to stem from a fundamental disregard for the rule of law and the text of the Constitution.
President Obama, like many leftist constitutional law professors, subscribes to the view that policy results are more important than law. When John Roberts was nominated to be Chief Justice of the United States, Obama was one of only 22 hard-left senators to vote against him, lecturing that, while Roberts might be a brilliant lawyer, “legal process alone will not lead you to a rule of decision.” Indeed, it rarely leads Obama to one. Again and again, he shirks his own duty to defend the Constitution, circumventing the separation of powers if he does not like the outcome that it requires.
For instance, our Constitution gives the Senate a key check on executive power by requiring the president to seek Senate approval to appoint senior officials. Article II provides that the president “shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate shall appoint … officers of the United States.”
The president may bypass the Senate under only one circumstance: “The President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate.” This winter, the Senate did not go into recess and on January 3 conducted a pro forma session. But the next day, the president simply declared the Senate to be “in recess,” though it plainly was not. Then, he purported to appoint several officers, evading the Senate’s constitutional role. It was the first time in U.S. history that a president attempted to make recess appointments when the Senate — by its own lights — was not in recess. Obama flouted the plain language of the Constitution, pronouncing a naked assertion of power: “I refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer.” These appointments have been challenged in court, and it is likely that they will be declared unconstitutional.
Making illegal appointments is just one way Obama has undermined the separation of powers. He has also skirted his duty to fairly implement the laws. The Constitution grants Congress the authority to enact legislation but requires the president to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” Obama failed to do this when adherence to the law would not reach his desired result.
Take, for instance, Obama’s war in Libya. The War Powers Resolution requires the president to terminate the use of armed forces within 60 days after hostilities begin unless Congress authorizes military action. Like the Appointments Clause, the War Powers Resolution is a legislative check on executive power. But here too, Obama could not be bothered with any such restriction, evading it with the flimsiest of legalistic explanations.
Obama shunned the War Powers Resolution by claiming the United States was not engaged in “hostilities” in Libya. According to the president, “hostilities” ceased when we started fighting with remote warfare. But, of course, sending missiles in drones is just as “hostile” as firing with piloted fighter jets. Just as a convenient redefinition of “recess” served to obviate the Senate’s check on his appointments power, here a convenient redefinition of “hostilities” negated Congress’s check on his military power. Regardless of one’s views on the Libyan mission, distorting the plain language of an act of Congress undermines the rule of law and flouts the president’s constitutional duty to enforce acts of Congress.
In fact, Obama’s legal argument was so far-fetched that his own Department of Justice rejected it and urged him to comply with the law. But, taking a results-oriented approach, the president chose to ignore the advice and sidestep the statute.
Policy results seem to trump law when it comes to the role of the judicial branch as well. Obama has disparaged the judiciary’s constitutional function when the court has not rubber-stamped his agenda. During oral arguments on ObamaCare, many of the Justices asked pointed questions about the law’s constitutionality. Obama’s health-care law requires individuals to enter into economic transactions with other private entities, and several justices were clearly troubled by this unprecedented intrusion upon individual liberty. If the federal government has the power to force people to buy a product, then it could regulate “every human activity from cradle to grave,” according to the plaintiffs’ lawyer.
After oral argument (which one liberal commentator called a “train wreck” for the administration), Obama went on the offensive and preemptively chastised the court: “I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.” The next day, he backtracked after critics pointed out that judicial review has been part of our constitutional system of separation of powers for over 200 years.
When he is not denigrating the work of the judicial branch, Obama has found it convenient to sidestep the judiciary altogether. Last September, the administration targeted and killed U.S. citizen Anwar al-Alwaki in Yemen without any judicial review whatsoever. This violates the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution, which provides that “no person shall be deprived of life . . . without due process of law.”
Five months after al-Alwaki was killed, Attorney General Eric Holder asserted unchecked power to target and kill U.S. citizens. He claimed that judicial review was not needed because the executive branch had done its own internal evaluation. But due process is essentially a judicial check on executive power, which safeguards citizens’ life and liberty. As Alexander Hamilton explained, “the words ‘due process’ have a precise technical import, and are only applicable to the proceedings of courts of justice.”
Because the Constitution creates a unitary executive, vesting all executive power in a single person, it follows that an intra-executive check on executive power is no check at all. Indeed, recent reports have revealed just that; Obama makes the final targeting decision acting as judge, jury and executioner. The administration’s position undermines the judiciary’s constitutional function and turns the Due Process Clause into a dead letter, eliminating a core constitutional right. And Obama’s manipulation of “due process” – like his manipulation of “recess” and “hostilities” – undermines another fundamental check on executive power.
Again and again, President Obama bypasses the Constitution to enhance his own power, sidestep the other branches, and reach the outcome he wants. This should come as no surprise. Obama believes that the law should not always be dispositive, and that one’s “deepest values” and “core concerns” should carry the day.
But this outcome-based theory breeds lawlessness. A results-oriented approach is purely subjective; a good result to one person is usually a bad result to another. And putting one’s “deepest values” and “core concerns” above the law leads to the exploitation of power that our founders sought to prevent.
The notion that public servants – who take an oath to uphold the Constitution – may substitute their own judgment for the rule of law subverts the axiom that our country is “a nation of laws, not of men.” We have agreed to be governed by an objective body of law that our elected officials have a duty to evenhandedly uphold and apply. Our framers understood this concept, which is why they created a system where no person – including the president—is above the law.
If the President cherry picks which parts of the Constitution to obey and which to ignore, our Constitution becomes nothing more than a piece of paper. It is time to restore the rule of law and end the rule of Obama.
This is a tad off topic…but you mentioned lunches. I worked in the cafeteria of my children’s school for a couple of years as cashier. We had a good number of students who qualified for either free or reduced price lunches. I presume it was because the family met the criteria of low income. Yet, as these children approached the cashier’s station with their free lunches, they would buy a snack (not included in the price of lunch) which I thought was kind of odd since they can’t afford lunch….and many times they’d pay with a $10 or $20 dollar bill. This type of thing has to stop…too many people play the system, engage in fraud and think it’s perfectly ok to do so.

Regarding Benghazi, Ty Woods was a hero on several fronts.
He disobeyed orders so he could save American lives,,,and he did precisely that when treacherous Rear Echelons were eager, it appears, to let them die. Had he been allowed to go when he first asked, it is likely that Ambassador Stevens and Sean Smith would have been saved.
Later, when he was lasing the mortar position that ultimately klilled him from the rooftop at the annex, he was doing so because he fully expected some assett that was in the air to hit that target. You do not lase a target with that equipment unless something is there to take it down. I believe the second Predator UAV was probably armed and could have done so. Probably being flown out of Langley…perhaps elsewhere.

But a few heroes saved the day, and it cost two of them their life for so doing, and two others died in the debacle that I believe did not have to die.
Obama needs to be stood down…soonest.

Well, Bill, what do you call it when members of the New Black Panther party stand outside a precinct in Philadelphia? I’d call that intimidation and suppression. Also, Republican inspectors were made to leave a polling place and replaced with Democrats. They were reinstated after getting a court order. So don’t hand us that $^%$^$% about the GOP trying to suppress voting. They are trying to insure every is who they say they are and prevent fraud. That’s all there is to it and the only reason to get your panties in a knot about it is because it makes fraud harder to commit. It has nothing to do with voter suppression. I know it, you know it, and those who “protest too much” know it.

I think parents have a duty to their children to make sure they understand our history and heritage. I always discussed social issues and politics with them as soon as they were old enough to listen. My daughter wasn’t interested so much so I didn’t press it -figured she’d form her opinions when she was ready. However, every time my son and I got in the car, we’d discuss such things to and fro. He’s now 24 and still calls me once or twice a week to continue our discussions. He managed to get through college without being indoctrinated. He relishes a good debate or discussion and even considered politics as a career. He settled on aerospace engineering but had to “settle” for now for automotive. He was offered a job, thankfully, before he graduated by one of the car companies that did not need a bailout. My daughter serves in the Navy and now at 22, is starting to pay attention to politics… I’d hope so as her life could depend on what policies we follow. I guess my point is that parents should teach their kids what it means to be American, what our forefathers sacrificed to give us this great (albeit flawed) nation. General Gage, a British officer during the Revolution once lamented about how tenacious the colonists were regarding their freedoms. “You can’t beat it out of them, it was bred in them since babies”. How right he was.
And this from Patrick Henry, it still applies to formidable challenges today:

Derrick and ProudNavyMom, I truly love your comments because they are my feelings also. It is so good to know that others can see what is happening to our America. If Obama wins this race, it is dooms day for us. I’m a 73 year old woman and I have seen a lot in my years, but never what has happened in the last 4 years. Not even in the depression era was it this bad. I would gladly go back to the 50′s, 60′s if I could. I really shouldn’t say this,but I am. I think Obama is our Anti Christ.
Okay, I really MUST comment on the Florida reference. Exactly WHO do you think we are preventing from voting here? If you are a US citizen who is registered in your home county, then you may vote either by absentee, early voting. or vote on Election Day. If asking for a photo ID is offensive or prejudicial, then I assume you believe that airlines, banks, and hospitals are equally offensive. There is very little that you can do these days without showing some form of photo ID–why should voting be any different? I would imagine food stamps might even require it–not sure, really. I just noted a FB post from a Florida friend who recently moved to California. While she was standing in line to vote, there were several right around her who were not registered with NO photo ID, but they allowed them to vote. She was not asked to confirm her identity either. How many times in how many places are they permitted to vote? If an ID is your problem, then absentee voting does not require anything other than your signature–it just has to match their signature on file with the county where you registered. Operative word here: REGISTERED.
The voter fraud attempts are occurring on both sides because this election will decide the future of our country as a democracy worthy of respect throughout the world, and offering opportunities to all who are willing to work and achieve their own greatness, rather than a socialist republic led by an apologetic anti-American bent on the destruction of our nation. Shame on ANYONE who purposefully intimidates or thwarts this process–our forefathers set up this system to ensure the freedoms that we so proudly cherish. Those freedoms are being slowly, but surely, taken away.
Be afraid, be VERY afraid, if Obama succeeds in duping the public again. If and when (or when) the mainstream media decide to actually cover the Benghazi travesty, perhaps folks will realize their dreadful mistake. He has skillfully manipulated the “facts”, postponing the “investigation” until after the election, and has received the support of almost every news media in quelling the demands for honesty and clarity. I almost threw up my dinner watching him talking about “you know me” and “I don’t lie” to the crowds.

When he found how many could not get in to see him, he was taken outside and saw the crowd lined up, and FILLING a two level parking garage. He waved to them, and placed his hand over his heart. When asked about how he felt about that huge welcome in a state that until a week ago was felt to be in the bag for Obama, Romney responded, “That’s when you know you are going to win.”

This is in response to Lexi (hopefully not too late): Although I do not agree with your stance, and do feel that you need to look at both sides in order to get some depth into your perception, I do protect your right to state your opinion (albeit erroneous). As a former member of the Air National Guard for 8 years, I joined partly to preserve our rights of free speech. I pray that those rights will continue to be preserved, but Lexi, that is what most of us posting on this page are fervently stating: our Constitutional rights are being systematically whittled away and before long, even you won’t have the right to freely lash out against those who are not in agreement with you.
There are plenty of good books to read, but seriously encourage you to maybe watch a few movies first. Then decide which books you would like to pursue. Start with the movie, “Runaway Slave,” I think it would speak clearly to your stated objections and answer some questions on the historical background of the 2 parties as they relate to African Americans in particular.
If you consider yourself open-minded, then watch the movie, “2016″ because much of it is Obama’s own voice as he reads from his book, “Dreams From My Father.” It will give you insight into the fundamental changes that Obama is talking about making for our nation, and the reasons behind it. His own words, mind you…
Another great movie is “Monumental.” It is a movie that delves into the developing of these great United States and has a very positive message of hope for all concerned.
If you wonder why all of us “Right wing nuts” keep shouting against Marxist socialism, communism, humanism (and alot of other -ism’s), then watch the movie, “Agenda, Grinding Down America.” It goes into great detail of the communist movement in America, especially post WWII. This is important to understand because this is the educational and developmental influences upon which Obama was raised.
Last but not least, search out “Agenda 21″ and see what the U.N. has in store for the future of the U.S.A. It is very like the “futuristic” saga of Hunger Games, only it’s not fiction and may be sooner than we think if We The People don’t stand up and fight against a One World Gov’t encroachment.
Lastly, if you are a Christian, I encourage you to seek out a couple of enlightening Bible studies in your area. One is called, “The Truth Project,” and the other is “Anchors Aweigh.” They promote deep thinking and Biblical standards that will help you to discern information from a Christian world view. Again, if you are a Christian, then as your sister in Christ, I urge you to look further into the tenets of your faith and how they are best promoted in our beloved country, before it’s too late.
